Less than a month after releasing iOS 6.1, Apple released 6.1.2 to patch up some Microsoft Exchange Calendar related bug which could result increased network activity and may drain your battery faster. In one of our recent post, we also provided all the download links of iOS 6.1.2 for all the devices.
Evad3rs, the team behind the Evasi0n jail breaking tool rushed to update their software as well to make sure that their tool can also jailbreak the latest 6.1.2. Finally, we have learned that Evad3rs released Evasi0n v1.4 which is absolutely capable of jail breaking not only iOS 6.1.2, rather it can jailbreak any device that is running iOS 6.0 to 6.1.2. Talk about master jailbreaking tool.
So, I decided to write a tutorial on how to jailbreak iOS devices which is running the latest 6.1.2. Yes, the same procedure applies for all versions of iOS from 6.0 to 6.1.2 on all devices except Apple TV 3. Before we get start, I would like to remind you once again to backup all of your contents on your device.
Note: We will not responsible for any damage or possible data loss that might occur during your jail breaking procedure. Please, do it at your own risk.
Let’s get started.
Step by Step iOS 6.1.2 Jailbreaking Guide
Step-1: Download the iOS 6.1.2 IPSW file for your device and update the iOS on your device manually. We don’t encourage anyone to perform OTA (over the air) update.
Step-3: Run the Evasi0n program and then plug in your device using the USB cable. Evasi0n should show you the type of device connected with your computer at this point. The “Jailbreak” button of Evasi0n would become active. If Evasi0n can’t recognize your device, jailbreak button would remain inactive. In such case simply repeat this step once again.
Step-4: Just click on “Jailbreak” button and wait until Evasi0n finishes its job. Please, do not do anything with your device while Evasi0n is jailbreaking.
Step-5: If everything goes smoothly, your device should reboot and you should see a jailbreak icon on your device’s home screen. Simply tap on it to finish the job. Your device will reboot for couple of times more but don’t do anything at that point.
After couple of minutes, Evasi0n will let you know that it is done with jailbreaking. Afterwards, your device should boot up on jailbreak state. You should also find the Cydia running on your home screen. That’s it, you are done. Enjoy.
