Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg finally admitted that Google is more aggressive as a competitor than any other company for Facebook. He thinks there is no need to fight each other over anything, rather may be they can work together more closely. Recently, Zuckerberg and his chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg sat down with Charlie Rose for an hour-long interview.
During the interview Zuckerberg said, “I don’t think this is the kind of situation where there’s one company that wins all the stuff,” adding “Google is certainly being competitive and trying to build their own little version of Facebook, but when I look at Amazon and Apple I see companies who are extremely aligned with us.”
He assured that Facebook don’t want to create any specific platform as they don’t have any plan to make devices like their competitors, rather they want to focus more on the flexibility of Facebook. So that everyone can access Facebook regardless their base platform whether it’s Apple, Google or even Amazon.
However, Sandberg moved a step further and said, “I think if you look at other companies, all of these companies are doing lots of different things but we are still, as we grow, doing exactly one thing”. There is no doubt that Sandberg somehow wanted to clarify that they are not chasing anyone rather its Google who are following their footstep to get their market share.
Here is the preview of that interview.
