Popular computer manufacturer Dell has launched two different desktop computers from of XPS and Vostro series accordingly. On a press release Dell has confirmed the availability of these two products from their online store. These new desktop computers include XPS 8500 and Vostro 470.
Dell is defining these computers as the high performance solutions for families, multimedia professionals and businesses. These desktops will feature Intel’s 3rd generation quad-core processors and latest graphics engine. Dell expects that these computers will meet the demand of high performance computers specially for professionals.
XPS 800 will feature Intel’s new i5 and i& quad-core processor. For amazing graphics, you can choose either nVidia or AMD graphics card. You will have 3.0 USB support for faster data transfer along with mSATA for adding Solid State drives. This new computer will support up to 16GB of memory with 1600MHz bus system. Up to 3TB 7200rpm of hard disk options are also available. So, basically you would have a wide range of options to customize it.
Vostro 470 would be available on mini tower chassis. You would have nearly the same feature like XPS 800, except lower memory and hard options. Maximum supported memory goes up to 12GB, and 2TB hard disk instead of 3TB.
Sam Burd, vice president and general manager of product development for Dell says, “Creatives and businesses can now choose Dell desktops available with Intel’s 3rd generation quad-core processors, delivering the performance they crave to pursue their professional passions,” he also added, “At the same time, we’re enhancing our Inspiron line-up to give multimedia buffs optimized audio and more features for an improved entertainment experience.”
On the other hand, Dell is also gearing up to bring their new Inspiron Special Edition series laptop computers with “enhanced” multimedia capabilities focusing on family users. These models are named as 14R and 15R. Interesting enough that these laptops are already available in some Asian countries.
As far as the price range goes, starting price for the XPS 8500 is $749 and the Vostro 470 for $549 from Dell’s online store. However, you can also buy these models from selected retail stores nationwide. For the Inspiron Special Edition laptop series you don’t wait little more since Dell didn’t confirm or hint on any specific date of it’s availability.
