Now a days, tech giants are getting sued by each other from every single direction you can think of. Only couple of days back Samsung sued Apple over iPhone 5. Now, Microsoft Corporation has said that the company is planning to sue Google Inc. and Motorola Mobility over infringes of its software patent. On Friday Microsoft has confirmed this news. Reuters also posted an article over this issue.
Microsoft plans to sue Google and Motorola over patent issueMotorola got sued by Microsoft in the United States and Germany because of using Android operating system on their devices. The main issue was about a technology that Android uses to get mapping data from Google’s server which Microsoft claims infringes one of its patent. Even though Motorola is not directly responsible for the Android operating system yet the company is being held responsible for selling Android based mobile devices. Another key issue that directly relates Motorola with Google is its recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility.

Many hardware manufacturers have already settled with Microsoft over this issue except Motorola. In fact Motorola has got several patent issues with Microsoft in courts.

Recently Microsoft said in a court in Munich that they are planning to add Google on their lawsuit because ultimately Android is infringing their patent which is a product of Google.

In an email statement, Microsoft’s spokesperson has said that,”It became necessary to add Google to this particular case because Motorola maintains that it lacks sufficient information about actions occurring on Google’s servers.”

Now, it seems like Google don’t want to give up without a fight either,”We want to focus on innovation, not litigation, but we’ll vigorously defend against any amended complaint Microsoft files,” said Google’s Deputy General Counsel Allen Lo said in an emailed statement.
