Breaking news for googlers. Google Dictionary page is dead. Yes, the web page of Google’s definition provider is no longer available at service. But the dictionary is still available. Oren Naim, Product Manager at Google, has replied on this thread saying that now Google Dictionary is integrated into Google Search. Users just have to type “define <word>” (w/o quotes) to get the definition of the word. On result page clicking on the “More »” link at right side of the definition will take to another page which will practically give the same experience that was available on dictionary.google.com. Or the users can simply click on Dictionary under “More Search tools” from the left panel.
Google Translate can be used for translations from foreign languages as we all doing so far and will continue as it will bring more languages in future.
By this integration Google is making it even better on google.com so it will be easier for googlers to get the dictionary experience without going to separate website. But Dictionary users are not happy with such a quick action by Google. They are strongly requesting to bring back the Google Dictionary page since many of them have definitions starred and have their own configurations related to it.
Lets hope Google will come out with appropriate solution for all Google Dictionary lovers and with more features in it.
