On a recent blog post, Facebook has confirmed once again that it’s going to roll out it’s Timeline updated for all “Over the next few weeks”. Paul McDonald, an Engineer at Facebook has also mentioned on the post that, “When you get timeline, you’ll have 7 days to preview what’s there now. This gives you a chance to add or hide whatever you want before anyone else sees it.”
Nearly four months ago on September 2011, Facebook unveiled Timeline Profile update on it’s F8 Developer Conference. However, on December 2011, Facebook started to pushing out it’s timeline updated in New Zealand for the first time with the purpose of getting feedback from it’s user and to gather some technical information. Currently, anyone can update their older Facebook profile layout just by visiting Timeline’s home page. Once you go there, all you have to do is to click on the green “Get Timeline” button.
It seems like regardless the complain from a large number of Facebook users, Facebook is going to push this mandatory update for everyone, even if don’t like it. This is something inevitable. So, if you think you will not update your profile with the Timeline, you are just delaying. Facebook will update your profile automatically within next couple of weeks. Perhaps, you might consider updating your profile right now and get used to with the Timeline.
Last month, we wrote a post on “How to Activate your Facebook Timeline” and ever since we are getting complain about the Timeline update. Some of the were desperately looking for the tricks to roll back. Alas! that’s not going to happen anymore. At least, the latest blog post has sealed the fate of the older Facebook Profile forever.
