Facebook & Skype video calling feature gets deeper
Today Skype announced some major improvements of video calling feature for Facebook users. You all should have known by now that back in July, Facebook launched it’s video calling feature for its users which was powered by Skype. Just today Skype confirmed that they are releasing Skype 5.4 beta for Mac & Skype 5.7 beta for Windows which will allow Facebook users to make video call to his/her friends from Skype itself.
Another great feature of this new Skype would be group Screen sharing. Currently group screen sharing is available only for Mac users. However, Windows users can also enjoy the same feature but it will require them a premium subscription. In terms of one-on-one chatting, users can share their screen normally & doesn’t require any special subscription.
On their blog post Skype stated that,”this new development in the Skype-Facebook partnership is the latest example of how Skype is removing communication barriers and making it easier to connect with friends, family and business colleagues. Our approach to social is about personal connections with people. We are on a mission to connect over one billion people and our continued partnership with Facebook brings us one step closer to this goal.”
