Cricket Wireless is going to offer iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S starting from June 22nd on it’s prepaid network. Today on a press release Leap Wireless (parent company) has confirmed this news. If it is true then Cricket Wireless would be the very first cellular network to offer iPhones for prepaid users within United States.
I am pretty sure that most of you can remember those days when only AT&T would offer Apple’s iPhone. Later on Verizon came up with their CDMA model of iPhone. Now, this time it’s Cricket Wireless to offer the same product, at a cheaper price. It seems like those days are over now.
“Our customers want the best products available and we are excited to bring iPhone to our pre-paid consumers with an industry leading $55 per-month service plan,” said Doug Hutcheson, president and chief executive officer, Leap Wireless International, Inc. “Launching iPhone is a major milestone for us and we are proud to offer iPhone customers attractive nationwide coverage, a robust 3G data network and a value-packed, no-contract plan.”
Once the iPhone goes on sale from June 22nd, the 16GB model of iPhone 4S would cost $500 and 8GB model of iPhone 4 would cost $400 from Cricket Wireless. As per their website’s dedicated iPhone page, both black and white color would be available from the very beginning.
One of the very best thing about Cricket Wireless is that you are not bound to enter into any contract as other operators requires to have iPhone with your plan. On the other hand, this operator is offering $55 per month for unlimited voice, SMS and Data (fair usage policy applies). Now, the fair usage policy is bit tricky, but you would get 2.3GB of data services over their 3G network which is still a very good deal. Unless you are heavily relying on data usage, you can’t go wrong with this plan.
So, are you going to get one? Feel free to make comments below and let us know.
