Widely anticipated Apple’s iPhone 5 is not a myth anymore. We all know by now that iPhone 5 is available for Pre Order from Apple’s website. Besides Apple, AT&T, Verizon and Sprint mobile are also offering its customers to pre order iPhone 5 over their respective websites.
If you are following the latest updates of iPhone 5 on regular basis then you should know by now that Apple started taking pre orders for iPhone 5 from September 14th. Now, today we learned from Apple that the company has received well over two millions of orders within the first 24 hours since its availability. As far as Apple’s claims goes, this overwhelming amount of orders breaks all the previous records held by older generations of iPhones. Previous record was held by iPhone 4S which received over one million of order within first 24 hours.
“iPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPhone 5 is the best iPhone yet, the most beautiful product we’ve ever made, and we hope customers love it as much as we do.”
The demand for iPhone 5 has exceeded the initial supply level which caused slight delivery delay for many customers who already ordered from online. However, Apple anticipates to meet the demand by October. If you are one of those people who don’t want to order online, you would be able to buy it in person from September 21 at Apple retails stores.
Apple would be releasing iPhone 5 with their latest iOS 6 operating system. If you are using iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, iPad 2nd generation, new iPad or iPod Touch, you can expect the new OS update starting from September 19th. Finger crossed.
