Final Version of Internet Explorer 10 is now available for Windows 7

Just today Microsoft announced the availability of their popular web browser, Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 users. Even though Windows 7 is not the Microsoft’s latest operating system yet the company decided to launch a separate version of IE exclusively for Windows 7 users as it is still the second latest and a very popular version of Windows. Microsoft believes that, with the release of IE 10 for Windows 7 the company would be able to bring the “most modern and high performing IE” to its 700M windows customers worldwide. According to New Relic, Internet Explorer 10 is the fastest web browser for Windows platform.
Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7We already know by now that Windows 8 comes with the Internet Explorer 10 by default. However, IE 9 was the default web browser for Windows 7 computers. Starting from today, windows users will be able to download and to use IE 10 on their Windows 7 machines as well. In terms of system requirements, Microsoft mentioned on their website that users will need to have at least a 1 GHz 32bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor and 512 MB of ram for both 32 bit or 64 bit computer. On the other hand, your computer needs to have the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 installed.

Microsoft also claims that IE 10 would load any web pages up to 20 percent faster than any other Windows based browser. In order to show case the performance of IE, you can simply visit the IE Test Drive site with examples of hardware accelerated rendering, interactivity, touch and real world site patterns. From the demo site you can also play Minesweeper which is a full featured HTML5 game.

The new supported standards in IE10 include many of the latest HTML5, CSS3, DOM, Web Performance, and Web Application specifications across important aspects of Web development which includes rich visual effects with CSS, sophisticated and responsive page layouts with CSS3, Enhanced Web programming model, interactive Web applications and Improved Web application security.
