Kobo Arc is Available Now in Canada, UK and France
Long anticipated Android tablet Kobo Arc has hit shelves in Canada and the United Kingdom. However, it will become available in France by Monday. Kobo Arc is the latest tablet device from popular eReading services provider company Kobo.
This 7” Android tablet device is also certified by Google and it features a 1.5GHz OMAP 4470 dual core processor. The screen resolution of this device is 1280×800 pixels. At a density of 215 PPI, this display can bring HD content to life on such a small space. The display will also feature an ultra-durable glass which Kobo claims to be one of toughest among all other tablet devices available in the market right now.
In terms of battery life, Kobo claimed that the battery will sustain for 10 hours in a single charge. This is also a very light weight device which weighs only 364 grams. There is also a front facing 1.3 megapixels camera, built-in microphone and a 802.11 WiFi module which would bring video conferencing on a very light foot print. Initially Kobo Arc would come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system; however it can be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Kobo confirmed that they already started working on the possible OS updates.
All Kobo users would be able to access all Android apps through Google Play store just like other Andorid devices. This tablet would be available in two different colors which is Black and White. However, users can change back panel of the device in blue and purple color. Kobo Arc will go on sale for $199.99 (16GB), $249.99 (32GB) and $299.99 for 64GB models.
