Blackberry PlayBook 4G LTE is coming on August 9
On August 2, Research In Motion (RIM) has finally confirmed through a press release that they are ready to introduce their new tablet device which is being called as Blackberry PlaybBook 4G LTE. If everything goes according to the plan, RIM would release their new device on August 9th. 4G LTE version would be the second release of RIM’s tablet device after its initial Wi-Fi only version which was first released back in April, 2011.
Just like before, this new tablet device would be released for the Canadian customers first then it would make its way to the United States. RIM is very excited about their new product just like their Executive Vice-President.
“We’re excited to bring customers the first BlackBerry PlayBook tablet with support for 4G LTE networks,” said David J. Smith, Executive Vice President, Mobile Computing at Research In Motion. “The new 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook offers a broad range of premium features, including a stunning 7 inch display, front and rear facing HD video cameras, HDMI out and stereo speakers, and it also offers premium performance on high speed cellular networks, helping customers to be more productive than ever and to make the most of their time on the go.”
This tablet device would feature RIM’s latest Blackberry PlayBook OS 2 software. In addition, their native web browser would support the latest HTML5 technology along with Adobe Flash 11.2 player. A dual core 1.5GHz processor would power the device for even better performance. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi only device would have 1 GHz processor.
A 7 inch WSVGA Multi-touch LCD display would be there with 1024 by 600 pixels of screen resolution which is pretty much the same as its predecessor. In terms of storage capacity, Wi-Fi only version would have 16, 32 and 64GB model whereas the 4G would be available only in 32GB model.
