Amazon Instant Video App is now available for iPad
Finally Amazon has released its long anticipated Instant Video app for iPad users. Today on a Press release, Amazon has confirmed the availability of this app through iTunes store. Unfortunately, iPhone and iPod Touch users won’t be able to install this app yet now.
From now on, users can enjoy Amazon’s video contents directly from their iPad. Existing customers can also access their previously purchased or rented content from their video library whenever they want. Another great feature is, customers can also download the popular TV shows, movies etc. on their iPad. So, basically you can enjoy all of your content either online or offline. However, if you are one of those Prime member of Amazon, you would have unlimited access to over 20 thousands of instant videos without any additional cost. You can find more information on Prime Membership from here.
Users also can keep track of the movies and TV episodes that they want to watch later through the app’s watch list feature.
Regardless the fact that the user’s can’t purchase on demand videos directly from the app, Amazon assures that anyone can make purchases from the web site and the content would be added on user’s account immediately. However, Amazon didn’t mention anything about the absence of in-app purchase capability of their app which is a very common practice now a days.
“We want to give customers the convenience of being able to watch all of their movies and TV episodes, wherever they are, on their iPad,” said Anthony Bay, Amazon.com vice president for video. “Today we’re excited to extend our ‘buy once, enjoy everywhere’ approach to iPad, giving customers the chance to enjoy more than 120,000 titles from Amazon Instant Video and more than 20,000 titles from Prime Instant Video anytime, anywhere.”
