PinguyOS LogoAt the beginning of this month we said that Pinguy OS 12.04 LTS will be out by the end of this month. Well, here comes beta its release. We said it would be released on 22nd, but things gone a little late because the Pinguy team was a little bit busy with some tasks regarding uploading the ISOs and mirroring them. Everything is fine now and you can download the both 32 and 64 bit ISOs from the links below.

Though 12.04 looks very similar to 11.10, it uses Ubuntu 12.04 as the base and much improved Gnome 3.4 for desktop environment. As you may know, it also uses some application from Linux Mint, for example Mint Update. So this is going to be an improved version of Pinguy OS with the latest packages and latest versions of same old applications like Docky, Conky, VLC Media Player, Clemetine (a media player alternative to Rhythmbox) and more.

Pinguy OS Developer team and all testers are trying hard to make this LTS version very stable and so close to perfect as possible.

Let’s look out for the final release by the end of this month.
