Nokia 808 PureView Smartphone will bring 41 Megapixel Camera into Reality
Today Nokia has confirmed that their latest smartphone Nokia 808 PureView will hit the shelves in May. If everything goes according to the plan, this smartphone would be the first to introduce a breathtaking 41-Megapixel of camera. Nokia’s very own PureView technology (PDF) with high-performance sensor and exclusive Carl Zeiss optics will feature this phone.
Executive Vice President of Nokia Smart Devices, Jo Harlow said, “PureView has completely raised the bar on imaging performance for the whole smartphone industry – and Nokia is not stopping here. We’re going to carry on developing PureView for our future smartphones in ways that will again revolutionize the imaging experience.” Take a look at some of the photos taken from Nokia 808 PureView from Nokia’s Official Flickr page.
On march, Jo Harlow also told a Finnish website that very soon a Windows phone with a similar camera is on the way, even though he didn’t mention any specific date for that. Interesting enough, we already have seen Nokia Lumia 900 which also features Carl Zeiss optics, even though the Windows Phone includes only 8 megapixel camera.
Nokia 808 PureView will include full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom and the world’s first use of Nokia Rich Recording technology which will let you record CD-like audio without any external microphone. However, the initial releases might not have such feature available. It will also feature Dolby Headphone technology, the sound delivered from your device to your headphone would be surround sound quality.
The Symbian operating system bases Nokia 808 PureView was first announced at the World Mobile Congress 2012 which also received Best Mobile Device award at the show.
Initially, this smartphone would be released for Indian and Russian consumer market and later on it will be available for rest of the world.
