Pinguy OS LogoPinguy OS developers have announced in a post on their official forum that 12.04 LTS version of Pinguy OS will be released by the end of this May. First they will release a beta or release candidate version on 22nd May. And the final version will be out within the next 1-2 weeks, if everything goes right with the beta/RC release. We can also assume that, if more issues are found, the final release may move down to the beginning or middle of the June.

This is the second LTS (Long Term Support) release after 10.04 LTS and has to be maintained for the next 5 years. So they are working hard to keep this release out of the trouble even from the initial stage.

All Pinguy OS users are eagerly waiting for this version for a long time. Especially after Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin got released. The 11.10 version never came out of the beta box because of the incompatibility with GNOME 3.2. In 12.04 GNOME is being updated with 3.4 and developers are on the way to make it stable and compatible.
