Within couple of hours of the rumor that “Facebook Messenger” software for Windows has been leaked, ZDNet claimed that Facebook has released this software Officially. TechCrunch has also reported the same news. However, it’s not quite clear that why Facebook still didn’t confirm this news by itself? Even though it has already hinted on few upcoming features like chatting with multiple friends, video calling, limiting chat availability, and editing settings.
No matter whatever the reason is, the download link of that software is pretty much public right now. Meanwhile, I already installed and tested this software on my sweet sister’s (Jajiba Biswas) PC as I am still stuck with my XP computer. Yes, you need to have Windows 7 Operating System based PC to test Facebook Messenger. Facebook still didn’t confirm the Possible version of this software for Mac & Linux platform.
I tried couple of times to Install Facebook Messenger on my Windows XP computer but it didn’t work. However, initial experience of using Facebook Messenger for Windows wasn’t that bad but what really drove me nuts is that I had to go to this URL to make it work. I think this is really annoying.
Well, it’s pretty much understandable that Facebook want’s you to stay logged in regardless their Standalone software.
The User Interface (GUI) looks really simple & clean. Like the original web version of Facebook, you can get the Friends Request, Message and Notification alerts. However, if you click on those notifications it will simply open up Facebook web page on your browser.
Frankly, I found this Software to be really boring. It’s just simply doesn’t make any sense that someone have to go to the Facebook page back and forth to check certain thing. What’s the point of having a Standalone software then?
