CTL Announces Ubuntu Powered Notebook

Ubuntu is an Open Source Linux Operating System. Among all the Distro’s of Linux, Ubuntu is one of the most popular one and that goes without even saying. Interestingly, that number of Ubuntu users is growing every day.

However, an American PC maker Company, CTL is taking this opportunity to grow it’s market share and to expand it’s Product line. Last Thursday, CTL announced their first Ubuntu (v.11.10) based Linux Notebook Computer which is called the MB40U. CTL also expressed it’s keen interested to release Ubuntu based Desktop PC as well.

CTL MB40UVisiting the Product’s page, we found a wide range of customization option is available. However, the basic or the base configuration of MB40U goes like this. It will be Powered by an Intel Core i3 2.3 GHz Processor with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. 160GB of SATA Hard drive for storage and Intel N6200 a/b/g/n Pro adapter for Wireless connectivity. Don’t worry if you don’t have Wi-Fi connection at home or office as Integrated 10/100/1000 LAN card would also be there for regular networking needs. Of course this Computer will come with Pre-Installed Ubuntu (v.11.10) 64bit version Operating System at a Price of $449.

Regardless it’s basic configuration, you have the option to Increase it’s memory upto 8GB DD3 which is definitely a big Plus if you are looking for some serious type of Business Notebook Computer. Instead of typical 160GB (5400 rpm) hard drive, you can add an Intel 160gb Solid State Drive just by spending $308 extra to boost it’s performance.

CTL MB40U is currently available in Online from CTL’s online store. However, it might take 2-3 days to build and test the Computer before it ships to your address.
