Today, on a Press release Acer Inc. has confirmed that their latest Android based tablet ICONIA A200 will be available for worldwide shipments by January 2012. However, Acer didn’t mention any specific date of it’s availability. Meanwhile Acer already started shipping ICONIA A200 in few selected countries.
ICONIA A200 will feature a 10.1″ (1280 x 800 pixels) multitouch screen which is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 (1GHz) dual core processor along with gyrometer. It would available only in 8GB & 16GB model with 1GB of RAM. There is a 2 megapixel front facing camera, typical Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n module, bluetooth 2.1, MicoSD slot & a full size USB Port to hook up with other devices, which will provide approximately 8 hours of battery life. For enhanced social networking the ICONIA TAB A200 includes Acer SocialJogger, which consolidates Facebook, Twitter and more.
Acer defines this device to be,”ideal for sharing good times via gaming, e-books, movies, music, photography, social networking and more, this tablet is an amazing hub of activity for people of all ages, and it comes at a very affordable price.” However, Acer didn’t mention any specific price tag for the device on their Press release. But we can pretty much assume that the price tag will be $299 for 8GB & $399 for 16GB model, just like it’s predecessor A100.
