How to Add Google Maps to your website
Did you just start a new Business? & want to share the address on your web site with Google Maps so that people who are visiting your business site can pinpoint your location? Or just simply you want to add your location on your blog site.
Whatever the reason is, if you want to add Google Maps on your site, this post is for you. Go ahead & read the rest of it. First of all, let me assure you that this is not a rocket science. It’s very simple & easy to do. You don’t even need to learn HTML or any other programming language for that. If you know how to “Copy” & “Paste” certain things that would be good enough. Now, enough intro, lets just get started.
Step 1: Go to Google.com & click on “Maps” from the top menu bar, or just simply click here.
Step 2: Type the address on the search field & hit the Search button. You address should get pin pointed by Google.
Step 3: Take a look at the top left hand corner of the screen. Find the “Link” button which you will find right next to the Print button, click on it.
Step 4: At this point you will see a new window just poped up. Copy the entire code from second text field where it says, “Paste HTML to embed in website”. If you want to customize the looks and the size of the map, click on the text where it says, “Customize and preview embeded map”. Just play around with the new Window & Copy the code.
Step 5: Paste the code anywhere you like. It could be on your website or may be on your blog, even blog post is ok too. Save it & refresh the page, the map should show up itself.
You are pretty much done with adding your map on your site. Now, Personally I didn’t like the “View Large Map” link that shows underneath the map. If you want to keep it, your part is done. But what if you don’t want to show this link? Simply go back to your code and find </iframe> tag & delete everything after that. Save it once again & refresh the page.
You can literally place this little piece of code anywhere you want. On your WordPress blog you can put it on your sidebar(sidebar.php) or even in footer(footer.php) section of your site. Feel free to make comments or even ask any question if you still couldn’t make it work. Good luck.
